On Earth As it Is is a cycle of prayer narratives, or dramatic monologues addressed to God, from writers of different faiths. Each week, the site will showcase a new prayer narrative.

Contributing writers will include Melanie Rae Thon, Erin McGraw, Michael Kimball, Melissa Pritchard, Ken Baumann, Adam Robinson, and others. 

 

About the Editors

Co-editors Matthew Simmons and Bryan Furuness are both graduates of the Warren Wilson M.F.A. Program for Writers. Matthew is the author of the book A Jello Horse (Publishing Genius Press) and The Man Who Couldn't Blog. Bryan teaches at Butler University, and is the associate editor for Booth, Butler's literary magazine. His fiction and nonfiction has appeared or is forthcoming in Ninth Letter, Sycamore Review, Southeast Review, Hobart, Barrelhouse, Freight Stories, and other literary journals.
